freedom

the freedom to live free of:  
harrassment  
intimidation  
bullying  
violence  
abuse  
fear  
is supposedly    
a basic  
fundamental  
and universally accepted  
human right    
right?  
   
then there come the much celebrated freedoms  
the freedoms of speech and gun violence  
which actually not only support    
all of the above  
but also ironically or unfortunately  
provide cover  
for bullies  
thugs  
abusers and  
mass murderers  
to hide behind  
   
an unintended consequence  
of the in-good-faith deed  
of the well wishers of the past  
whose relevance has now gone beyond that of the Holy Book itself  
   
so asking for freedoms which actually do not exist  
or simply practically cannot co-exist  
without giving up or impinging on other basic and more important freedoms  
is akin    
to trying to fit many pieces of puzzles  
into a puzzle which only needed a few  
   
i take a slow  
deep  
breath...  
and tell my tired old self    
the human race  
is not there yet  
coming to terms  
with this reality  
   
come on  
attack me...  
i couldn't care less of your  
hollow freedoms of speech and violence  
when you couldn't care less  
of my fellow human beings' most fundamental and basic right  
the right to life  
a life free of fear  
intimidation and violence!  
   
see the birdie??  
   
   
yes... my freedom    
to set it free  
in your face!
