Distraction
I still can’t keep my mind off your body
Every time I try
I stop and press rewind
I pause...
and suspend in time
And drink in your beauty
Like a sip of fine wine
I know I said
I didn’t want anything serious
But I’m seriously rethinking that decision
As I navigated your body
With precision
And our
Climaxes
Crashed into a collision
I couldn’t help but feel
That it would be a shame
For this to only happen once
Tell me if you feel the same
Or was this simply...
A one night stand?
Every time I try
I stop and press rewind
I pause...
and suspend in time
And drink in your beauty
Like a sip of fine wine
I know I said
I didn’t want anything serious
But I’m seriously rethinking that decision
As I navigated your body
With precision
And our
Climaxes
Crashed into a collision
I couldn’t help but feel
That it would be a shame
For this to only happen once
Tell me if you feel the same
Or was this simply...
A one night stand?

Thanks eg, I was sitting here needing to write (not wanting to work) and this is first thing that came to mind.

Hard for me to write when I'm teaching ... though I do let poems ferment when my students are in shavasana

Staring at a bunch of women in compromising poses in yoga pants would definitely help me come up with poetry!

Poignant moment, when the sex has been so enjoyable he reconsiders his commitment (or lack of it) and wonders if this is the start of something longer term - or not? Favourite lines, for their expression of this dilemma:
I know I said
I didn’t want anything serious
But I’m seriously rethinking that decision
I know I said
I didn’t want anything serious
But I’m seriously rethinking that decision

As the pic shows, she looks someone a man would want to engage with again and again.....

I have just posted a poem inspired by the accompanying pic, titled Lazy Afternoon in this section, an imagining of what was going on and what it led to.

Good write - the sip of fine wine overused cliché lets it down a little - but I very much liked it nonetheless
