Gratitude for Sadness

It took me forever to finally say that I'm over it
And now that I'm over it
I feel like I'm ready for my forever
I'm ready to hold her,
to touch her to kiss her
I'm ready to feel for her
I'm ready to be with her
And I'm ready to spend eternity with her
I'm ready for forever to finally mean forever

I'm ready for Forever to never mean leaving when things get tough
I'm finally  ready to see what tomorrow looks like
I can finally look at yesterday and smile and be happy
I can finally shake sadness' hand and say thank you

Thank you for teaching me what real happiness feels like
Thank you for digging into my being
and creating wells of happiness
Now I can extract happy memories
And share them with others
As I quench the thirst for happiness in other people
Thank you for showing me what love feels like
Because all I had was a taste of love
all I could touch
And all I could feel
was merely a taste of eternity

Thank you for bringing me closer to God

For you sadness have made me the happiest person I could be today,
I am grateful for the forever that turned into never,
for my next 'never'
will never be my claiming
to 'never love again'
because I know now that I will love continually
That I will love until the death of me
For not even death can stop me from loving
because I know now that
I will be a loving soul for all eternity
