The Beautiful America

1789
To the beautiful America
Where people rejoice to be free.
To the beautiful America
Where soldiers fight for you, for me.

To the beautiful America
Where we fight for equality.
To the beautiful America
Where we strive for democracy.

To the beautiful America
Whereby the people are ruled.
To the beautiful America
Whereby justice is fueled.

2075
My once beautiful America
Where freedom is taken for granted.
My once beautiful America
Where our respect for veterans is slanted.

My once beautiful America
Where we have lost the right of defense.
My once beautiful America
Where we lack all common sense.

My once beautiful America
Where the people are divided.
My once beautiful America
Where left and right are no longer united.

2118
To my beautiful America
Where the people rejoiced to be free.
My once beautiful America,
Where did you go...?
