Abrasive

Some people find me abrasive
I take that as a compliment
Abrasion is process
The process of removing surface material
It penetrates
It refines
Bringing something to the light
Like taking sandpaper
To an old piece of wood
That is covered with varnish
You start with coarse grit
Get all the old varnish off
The veneer
Who needs veneer
You need to go deeper
Penetrate the surface
Take some more sandpaper
Go to the finer grit
Until the real thing emerges
Until it is really clean and smooth
The bare wood
The grain
The essence
That is a beautiful thing
