To watch you forget...

There was a time, you never forgot
You remembered, when I did not
Now that time, has come to pass
I wish that we could, make it last
I look at you, the woman known
Who is my mum, as I have grown
Always there, in body and mind
Now your memory, hard to find
It just wont matter, how long it takes
Or just how sad, I feel it makes
For me to watch, my Mum forget
You'll always be, the best Mum yet
I'll always be there, Mum you no
With all my love to you, to show
To show how much, I still do care
To try to take, away your fear
I just don"t care, how long it takes
We'll still find time, to make some cakes
To sit and chat, of things now been
To look some more, at photos seen
To drive around, and look scenes
Your grand kids now, they all are teens
Some are older, parents now
Remember when you, warned them how
Gave us the talk, of why and when
If only you were, back like then
To see the vacant, puzzled look
I sit with you, to read a book
Your loving smile, you send to me
The love in you, I still can see
I no it will, get harder yet
To sit and watch, as you forget
