I
I could tell you that I know about life
but what do I really know?
You can hold it in your hands at times
but how do you let it go?
I have lived a tiny second
in comparison to time.
I have peaked within most emotions
but those are undefined.
I have learned in my own way.
I have learned from strict instruction.
What I've retained, no one can say.
I'm grateful just to function.
Now I face the doors of death
as has been told to me.
My trust must lie in those that know
what I have never seen.
So, I could tell you that I know about life
but I do not know about death.
For as long as I can survive,
I'll always know where I've been.
