Bottle Caps and Sewing Buttons
are worth more than a pretty penny
and earn you the right to past a poem.
One cap per posting
and a button for an image
is all that is needed.

But some unscrupulous people
can offer you more on the black market;
where one cap gets you a buzzword
to attract all the views
as rotting meat to flies
with all the hashtag lies,
and a button grants an edit
to elevate the style
putting better words in the places
where pre-school prattle once was.

However, spare a thought for that currency
that is exchanged so quickly;
those caps bereft of bottles to envelope
and clothes with only holes
where buttons once corresponded.

So whatever you do with those caps and buttons
make sure they are going to a good home
and hold those currency to proper account
because as although they can buy you fine words
and maybe even an ill-gotten medal or two
they certainly cannot buy you
happiness, wisdom, contentment
as those words are not traded but found
when least expected;
such as a fortunate alphabet soup.
