I Can’t Save You

I wish I could save you from his lies
But it’s not my place to say it
There’s a man code in these streets
And I’m forced to obey it
Me and him were friends before we knew you
Even though we have a connection
But since y’all have been in a relationship
Me and you can never show our affection
I wish I would’ve met you first
Because I think you could’ve been the one
But who would I be if I professed my love
When you two already have a son?
I’ve told him before to stop cheating
But my warnings always falls on deaf ears
My heart breaks in two when he doesn’t come home
And you call me looking for him, in tears
I know you’d leave him if I told you the truth
But what kinda friend would I be?
I don’t want to be the reason why you leave
But I wish you could be set free
I keep trying to figure out a loophole
But nothing is coming to mind
But until I do I’ll keep praying for you
And know the truth always comes out in time
