Never Good Enough

You’re so emotional and you think I’m just too proud
You say I don’t listen so that’s why you talk so loud
But that’s not it at all, actually the opposite is true
Whatever I try, it’s never good enough for you
Men are not that complicated
There’s only three things that we require
To be fed, fucked and respected
Is our only life’s desires
But your emotions change like the weather
Every 30 minutes or so
You expect me to be a psychic
And that’s just not logical
I would love to be in sync with you
Where our timing was never late
Where our relationship wasn’t complicated
You know, the definition of a soulmate
I’d like nothing more than to play your body like the violin
And have your heart on my string
I’d play your chords, with my poetry
The joy and passion I’d bring
But we’re more like clashing cymbals
Over top of a classical tune
Our relationship is like a flower
Without water, it’s lost it’s bloom
I shouldn’t have to work this hard
Love sometimes needs to be easy
I’m telling you that I’m trying my best
But you never believe me
We used to just work
Or was it all a lie?
How did we become incompatible?
How did our love just die?
I wish we could regain our fire
Or maybe it’s just not meant to be
Please let me know if it’s worth it to you
Or if we should just set each other free
