The WIDE DOOR
With forgiveness
love
trampled pride
the door to my heart
I threw open wide . .
but my Loves , love
did not venture or stride . .
A love that was true,
still growing inside
became hindered and lost . .
oh how it cried !
The pain that fell . .
like rain on the leaf
gave glimpse to the watcher,
the sadness and grief
Of a true love . . . lost . .
or taken by the thief
love
trampled pride
the door to my heart
I threw open wide . .
but my Loves , love
did not venture or stride . .
A love that was true,
still growing inside
became hindered and lost . .
oh how it cried !
The pain that fell . .
like rain on the leaf
gave glimpse to the watcher,
the sadness and grief
Of a true love . . . lost . .
or taken by the thief
