Compass

I have had to say
goodbye too many
times to a part of
me that never
existed. Sorry to
wrongs I've never
made. Take back
words I've never
claimed. The "right"
moments fall so
infrequently, how
should I know to
validate them? To
risk turning these
walls around me to
ruins, or jeopardize my
dying wishes? I haven't
been made to be a
man of God in so
long, but dare I say it
would be a sin to
die with this
compass still in my
hands.
