earth
forever tangible
as cool soothing soil
beneath the bareness of
the traveler's feet
a panorama manifesting
an auburn horizon
of a mountainous pride
across the wonder of virgin irises
water
caretaker of
the mysteries of the world
serene and content
yet dark and all devouring
transfixed in perpetuity
between the whims of the winds
and the random heaving
of mother's core
air
ubiquitous in its touch
goddess of the human condition
tranquil as the loving breeze
turbulent as the vengeful tempest
the oxygenator of the
dance of the sexes
the orchestrater of poetry
the engine of conflict
the essential for the birth of
fire
consummate in its purpose
the prophet of entropy
the crucible..the purifier..the progeny of intent
be it at nature's command
or human hands
'tis the only element
non-existent until conjured..cajoled
through a conjoining of forces
a seething maiden lying forever in waiting
for the betrothal of the eternal spark
that ignites the magik
within

These forces, each capable of wreaking havoc,
even upon one another, yet held in check by the
ultimate equalizer,....time, so none keeps advantage,
Forced to work together, creating home sweet home.
Damn shame we have yet to learn this elementary truth.
