Trade places with me
And you shall see why I don't like
what I see
Try wearing my shoes
Put yourself in my skin
Look through these eyes
Feel this pain
Keep your head held high
Hide your tears
Say it's okay
When everything seems so unreal
And makes you want to scream
Put on your fake smile
Which hides all that's unseen
Walk through my life
Not sure who you are
Feeling the weight of the world
Running from the truth
Can you see
Love beyond reach
Heart broken unrepair
Soul lost and searching
Things that can be heal
When I say
So trade with me
So you can see
Why it's so hard to love me.

Author's Note
Taking a step back to learn to love one self before you can truly love another. I've always hated somethings about myself because of how others treated me. So it started at a young age and rolled over into adulthood. It's hard to change something that's been bury deep within yourself. I chose to move forward and it starts with me.

to love thyself one must first know thy true self for ask thyself what is your true value and self worth to you, for its easy for those to judge us and not trade places with us if they dont really know us for who and what we are nor even the things that we had to face or endure within life nicely composed dear poetess...respect
