Everything Was Numb
(An Acrostic Poem) Dedicated to Nightbirdblue
Everything was numb
Validating emotions impossible
Entering the pit using my own shovel
Reclusive personality creation; people are toxic
Yet they profess love and caring
Truth be known love requires evidence and actions
Hidden abuse and mistreatment do not reflect love
Ignorance and abandonment cannot be done in love
No respite, the pain of numbness is exquisite
Gravestone reads 'All feelings Rot.In.Pieces'
Wakened by a lighthouse photographed
Angel of light, true love and compassion
Slumbering replaced by eyes and heart open
Numbness dissolves in the warmth of her arms
Undulations repeat the slow heart beat - butterflies
My heart is caressed and mended with love
Brightness envelopes me: I am in Love

When that one soul comes along who cradles your own so perfectly that the puzzle all comes together and the picture is complete...that's what this poem makes me think of...Savor that love, my friend, the both of you well deserve it and it was too long in coming. So many warm hugs fro you both :-)

sometimes it takes such a long time for some people to wake up - it is sad that it took me 57 years :-((((

I find it amazing that in reflection we share similar histories- abuse, neglect, abandonment, turning us numb... yet here we have come to shine so brightly for each other 💖 Such an uplifting story in the end =)
