PLEDGE TO LOVE

I feel something like love,tugging at the corners f my mouth

I hear someone like love,calling for me from deep in the south

I see something like love,inviting me to join the banquet

I want to break free and run to it

But somewhere between lifting my foot up in the air and putting it back to the ground

Courage departs from my frail bones

My knees shake and wobble in denial

My soul is willing but in my brain a voice is screaming urging me to turn down the invitation

My mouth refuses to produce something coherent so,

I just stand there battling between getting lost to this abyss of love and finding myself in this familiar voice that I have trusted for so long

So love,

In case I turn my back from you and depart without saying goodbye,

I hope that you will forgive me and that you will come back when my brain will be silent

I hope you come back when both my soul and my heart will not be choosing between two evils knowing so well there is danger in both

I hope you come back when you are the strength I need to lift that foot
