No....no alternative other than dropout,
curl into a ball, and hope not to drown
in the turbulence that is life.
Those with clarity and purpose of mind,
arise, don their gear, and tackle the mountain
trudging onward, hopefully upward, and
rely on their fellow climbers and faith,
(whichever that may be), will help them
face the challenges that lie ahead,
praying for an occasional foot hold on which
to rest and recharge, on their way
to the top or a plateau of their choosing
which affords the view they seek.

scenario in that work
where two souls
bound by their srrounds called Life
are talking and one knows pretty well
the result- yet somehoe takes on a mission
( not only impossible but also improbable under any circumstance)
the title was an attempt at conveying the same.
Yet your wise words hold truth as well
when given the luck of having fellow climbers
and occasional footholds.

I always take solace in Bukowski's poem...it's always about how well you walk through the fire. A poignant and powerful poem CF.
