Hind Sight

I wake from a colorful dream.
The sun is warm on my skin through our window.
It must be a beautiful day.
I feel my way to the kitchen
and fumble to find two cups.
I make a small mess preparing our coffee.
It smells amazing baby.
I wait for you at the table until I remember.
Today I must wear black.
A black suit for you, my love.
A suit that this sightless man cannot find without you.
After a lifetime without my eyes,
I have finally gone blind.
