The Apology You Deserved
How could someone ever hurt you?
Because with all of the things you do
And say, you are my kind of dream.
I hope that I can somehow redeem
Or restore the confidence you lost.
I hope that the sun will help defrost
Your guarded heart and soft interior.
I do not hold or have any ulterior
Motives, but to know you and what
You try to hide. I get that you shut
Me out because you are really afraid
And just like an onion, the layers fade
Away over time, but I want to get
To what you are made of. The regret
You hang onto. The faith and belief
You crave to have. Let go of your grief.
There are spots that you have reserved
And this is the apology that you deserved.
Because with all of the things you do
And say, you are my kind of dream.
I hope that I can somehow redeem
Or restore the confidence you lost.
I hope that the sun will help defrost
Your guarded heart and soft interior.
I do not hold or have any ulterior
Motives, but to know you and what
You try to hide. I get that you shut
Me out because you are really afraid
And just like an onion, the layers fade
Away over time, but I want to get
To what you are made of. The regret
You hang onto. The faith and belief
You crave to have. Let go of your grief.
There are spots that you have reserved
And this is the apology that you deserved.
