Shadow

You took away from me
my right to be a Father
3 children tattooed on my chest
I lose holding them tight

everything is going to be all right
cant teach them right from wrong
only a father can teach somethings
they would grow up to be better than you or I

you took away from me the ability to protect them
cant tuck them in at night to give them a kiss and a hug
no more storys or to be able tell them about adventures
can’t watch them grow up to watching them graduate

can’t watch each of them get married and raise their own family
you took from me something that you thought you would lose yourself
it was the children, you was so scared of them being hurt by me
it was you that broke their hearts it was you that done me wrong

you said you could not help your self were he was concerned
now you took away from the children all that I have written above
you also took from yourself what you thought was possibly
maybe the best idea since the dawn of man a night in shining armour

you took another and sent me away knowing my return could never happen you made sure with getting him to send me photos
telling me that the real man is now with your wife
I did not see it at first you telling me all that you did

you wanted me to leave you alone and to stop fight for our marriage
now your daughter hates you your children needed me
you took that away from them just to satisfy your own dirty needs
you got caught out in your own lies and shame didn't you

not think that I had needs too which I'm sorry
you had sexual desire to take another man
that is still not by your side he’s now with his gf
you said I was very satisfying, you said I satisfied you deeply

did you not think that your children had needs too
they need a man that can show them right from wrong
from a true man’s way and how to treat a lady with respect
You said I was your knight in shining armour

I thought I was just an ordinary man
you wrote me a poem shadow poem
which you read out on our wedding night
in front of all your friends and family

I truly believed in your shadow poem
to me I know it came from deep down within you
way before he showed his face and made you doubt us
I know that it was your shame that kept you form taking me back

your doubts and fears could of all gone away if you let me in
you know I tried so hard to save or marriage but it must not of meant to be
I married you with pride and with a heart that was full of love
you said you married me because you felt sorry for me

do you know how much that crushed me to hear you say those words
but I know now you said those words just to keep me away from you
in the end you won for that short period of time when he was still in your bed where is he now he does not even have your back he was gone

as soon as his wife gave birth to his Son it looks like you got used and spat out pretty sad when you think about it now you can see just what was taken
from me now you know just what you gave up and
how the Lonely heart really works it’s not that nice eh

you might have a new man in your life now
you are not truly happy with him
he is not me the man that was in a poem
now nothing more than just a shadow of a man

it really was about me nothing more than your imagine
wanting something that you can't have then when you found it
you thrown it all away just for a man with no honor
now this man who writes this poem remains a shadows of a shadow.

Author's Note
Took from me the children
Broke my heart
Took my soul and crushed it
Broke my will to fight

Took my manhood
Broke all your promises
Took my willpower
Broke my trust in people

Took me for a fucking fool
Broke me, left me weak
Took another man
Broke me mentally

Took everything
Broke up over fb
Took humility to a new level
Broke our vows

Took took took
Broke me broke me
Took my time away
Broke me so bad
