Response to Joshuaberry on Religion
Religion....
I was raised christian
but while in high school
I read dozens and dozens of books on the topic
The knowledge i acquired
pushed me far from organized religion
Can I say I think that religion is a mental prison
The best slaves do not see their cage
Faith in and of itself may be good
But religion is the opiate of the masses
It keeps you in your place
It makes you easy to control
I debated countless people on the topic
And got to the point
Where i really don't care to do it anymore
Because while i can site science, you have scripture..
I believe in testable things, not an ancient book.
If your God is real, i have no fear meeting him
Because he made me smart enough
To question my existence
In a way that inspires me
To be the best person i can be.
Can i be faulted for using the logic he gave me?
I think not.
I don't know if there is a god
But i certainly am not going to buy into man made gods
Like the one you worship.
Take DMT or something and then we'll talk..
Religion is a prison of the mind.
It controls your thoughts.
You are running like a computer.
I encourage you to break free
from the dogma of religion while keeping your values.
Be critical.
Think for yourself.
Don't repeat some scripture verse,
Come up with an original thought
Expand your mind. break the cycle
I have faith that you can make the transformation
Into a totally free person
And only then may you find God.
