Fallen Brothers

Blood is life.
Your bloods have become our hero,
Your lives our heroine.

You took your stand and refused to bulge,
You bore the pains, unto memories,
Till you became symbols of courage and loyalty.
You smiled to your deaths, because you knew,
Your deaths are not in vain.
We miss you our fallen Benue brothers.

You proved that Ayatutu: ka se,
Our brotherhood beyond debate.
You gave your lives to protect our fatherland,
To protect our wives and children,
You became a fortress for our fathers and mothers.
We love you our fallen Benue brothers.

Our children, fathers and mothers,
Our wives, sisters and brothers.
You went in to have a nights’ rest,
Only to wake no more.
Because the enemy has grown horns.
He has valued cattle more than us.
We miss you our fallen Benue brothers.

Your blood will not be spilled in vain.
Our lands will cry till you are avenged.
Our tears will become our strength,
Because the Lord will arise and sever their horns.
We love you our fallen Benue Brothers.

The fathers of the fallen: we are proud of you.
The children of the fallen: we love you.
The wives of the fallen: we are forever with you.
Brothers and sisters: we are so proud of you.
Fallen Brothers: you will live forever in our hearts.
