Spirit in the Wood

Slip beneath a crimson sunset
where the trees sway to mockingbird song
and long for the touch of moonlight
as you await a peaceful dawn
I've always waited for the day I could smile
the day that i will finally feel free
and I will be here
with a lavender bow over my brow
beckoning you stay for more than a while
i will offer you food and i will offer you mead
here in the safety of the trees and the moon
and when the fireflies flicker out of their light
and the mockingbirds sleep
would you like to stay here with me?
