Colors pt. 6 The Return
The Return
After a long night of tossing and turning,
I jolt awake sensing something concerning.
My soul is in distress and feels as if it is burning.
I sense my one “friend” on the island is returning.
I exit my home and see the man smiling at me.
I was really hoping he was gone for good so I could be free
of the dark menacing presence that looms over him.
His smile at me gives me an ominous feeling that things are about to turn grim.
“It’s nice to see you again my long-lost friend, I’m glad to see you’re doing well.
I was hoping you made the best of this island and hadn’t turned it into a hell
because it can be awfully dark and lonely living in a cold cell.
I see you’ve built yourself a home, it looks awfully swell.
It’s a lot nicer than I ever imaged someone building on this island.
You took a piece of coal and turned it into a diamond.
Very impressive.
Very impressive.”
I shake my head and agree that I’ve made a nice home for myself here on this island of green and yellow.
I tell him I’ve been living a quiet life and remaining low key and mellow.
I tell the man it’s nice to see him again but I must be going
Since I have a busy day planned out for myself since I don’t want to become too boring.
The smiles even bigger at me and tells me before we separate again he must give me a fair warning.
He tells me I should stay the night more inland tonight or I will be a goner come the morning.
He points to the sky and tells me a storm is approaching and will be here by nightfall.
He tells me it will be a very large storm, nothing small.
I look to the sky and notice some incoming dark clouds off on the horizon.
I swear the clouds are darkening in front of my eyes, it’s very mesmerizing.
I wonder if the storm will bring with it Poseidon.
It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if a God was coming to destroy me on this island.
I thank the man for the warming who continues to smile at me.
He tells me my day of judgement is upon thee and tomorrow I may no longer be free,
free to live a life of sin without a single consequence.
It’s a statement that comes out filled with pompousness
but flows out of his mouth with such eloquence.
He holds himself in such high esteem and confidence.
I nod and turn to walk away as he leaves me with one final warning,
or promise since his words sound so alarming.
He tells me the darkness is descending
and will soon expose me and all of my lies.
He tells me he knows all of my sins and can see all of the bad deeds I’ve done in my dreams.
Ordo ab Chao or order out of chaos
is about what’s about to take place on this island full of such beautiful colors.
He tells me he will be seeing me again soon.
Well, tomorrow before noon.
