The End
Death:
What a beautiful friend.
Without it, stress would never end.
Pain and sorrow, and tears would never dry...
If it weren't for the death of struggle and strife.
Funny how we think that pain will never end.
Then one day you wake up, more tired than you've ever been.
You give up on the worry, give up on despair.
You just don't care, anymore.
There is mourning for the person who used to be you,
Yet you feel free to realize:
A new day is a new you.

I've tried for many years to be a Lighthouse for my sister. Unfortunately she has only reacted to further extinguish my flames.
May my words here continue to inspire. Gladly I share this with fellow poets in hopes we may all continue to push forward through times of struggle.
Much gratitude poetess =)

This is a really good write.
it turns my stomach but in a good way
facing death with a high chin
not choking down tears
but taking away the best parts of life
a most excellent poem nightbirdblue

Sometimes we have to look at life for what it is - in its most stark reality - in order to put the final nail in the coffin and lay the past to rest.
Thank you for your remarks & praise samael, they are always appreciated =)

Death what a beautiful friend?? - I see death as a prison visitor who visits me on an irregular basis - but he is mine to command until my time is right. he is dark and ugly with the tortured faces of the souls he has taken stretched over his own face - he is far from beauty and could never be a friend as at some point he will come to take your life ready or not.
I really like this poem I think I see a happy / positive ending in it :-))))))
Love and huge Hugs :-))))))

Re: Re. The End
Honestly I was somewhat drawing upon the Buddhist concept of rebirth when drawing up the line "death, what a beautiful friend" ..."if it weren't for the death of struggle and strife" - Each moment we experience is equatable to a new opportunity: the birth of a thought, the thought is sustained, then the thought dies, and another takes its place in an endless stream of consciousness.
With each new moment we have the opportunity to move on and release what no longer serves us, hence the tone of optimism that you picked up on at the end of the poem =)

Death is not the end, merely a new beginning. I like how you've written positively about the one thing most, if not all, humans fear. We're all energy, and energy can't be destroyed, only changed. Even when our physical bodies die, our energy/souls will embark on a new journey and we shall become enlightened. It's sweet that you've written this for your sister, despite it being read by blind eyes.
Well done!
Well done!

You really picked up the message here clearly =) I realize many people find death a hard concept to look at in such light, but oh how less fearful we become with such perspective. Absolutely loved your remarks, thank you for taking the time to digest and reflect on this piece!
