autumn leaves falling
again
as winter whispers
revealing dark bark,

our brown river bounces
flowing beside
reminding me we have walked this way
once before,

listening with the birds
to the sounds cast
up high
as she flows,

wetting rock
licking wood
filling life with oxogen
feeding,

kissing
our sore young hearts
healing
timeless wonder
