Said her daddy teaching her to walk
The little girl, only one year old
She looked up and smiled
And let go of his hand
Now sixteen years old
Dad's breathing was no longer in his control
He tried and tried to take a breath
But there was something waiting, called death
One by one, Dad
Take one breath at a time
She told her father
Even if she saw the signs
She looked down at him
As the paramedics came
She thought back to him teaching her to walk
Remembering his eyes, oh how they shine
Then she let go of his hand
For the last time...

He tried and tried to take a breath
But there was something waiting, called death
One by one, Dad

She thought back to him teaching her to walk
Remembering his eyes, oh how they shine
Then she let go of his hand
For the last time...
