THAT FLING
(Inspired by Vessel of Honour's poem 'The Fling'.)
I had that burst of energy
She aroused in the loins of me;
A so-called 'Fatal Attraction',
Bodies spurred to bedroom action.
That's how we came to have that fling,
When, for real love, we weren't looking.
No promises to meet again,
Which gives the memory some pain.
I still remember that release,
Hooking together like one piece,
When of convention we let go;
There felt no sense in saying No.
I had that burst of energy
She aroused in the loins of me;
A so-called 'Fatal Attraction',
Bodies spurred to bedroom action.
That's how we came to have that fling,
When, for real love, we weren't looking.
No promises to meet again,
Which gives the memory some pain.
I still remember that release,
Hooking together like one piece,
When of convention we let go;
There felt no sense in saying No.
