the Promise of a Dream
And now it is time I feel the tide
pressure of the moon on my heart
rising in rhythm of the ocean's breath
there was nothing left of you
colors were washed in blue
like the beauty in your eyes
and so I watched the evening sun
bowing low to make way for his queen
she rose in his light
and he granted her his heavenly might
and basking in that tearful sight
I remember the words you spoke
you awoke in me a strength I didn't know
yet you refused to bring me to your light
it made me wonder
just how little I was to you...
you placed your fears in my palms
the wrongs you refused to stop
and so my tears fell
and I became an ocean of lost dreams
nothing is ever as it seems
and now my hopes tear at their seams
please believe me when I said..
I'd do anything for you
I was no queen
you broke your promise of a dream
pressure of the moon on my heart
rising in rhythm of the ocean's breath
there was nothing left of you
colors were washed in blue
like the beauty in your eyes
and so I watched the evening sun
bowing low to make way for his queen
she rose in his light
and he granted her his heavenly might
and basking in that tearful sight
I remember the words you spoke
you awoke in me a strength I didn't know
yet you refused to bring me to your light
it made me wonder
just how little I was to you...
you placed your fears in my palms
the wrongs you refused to stop
and so my tears fell
and I became an ocean of lost dreams
nothing is ever as it seems
and now my hopes tear at their seams
please believe me when I said..
I'd do anything for you
I was no queen
you broke your promise of a dream
