(i) LOVE
Love takes commitment, hard work, selflessness,
Compromise and sometimes surrender
Without these love is fleeting and will not last,
It will not last because it cannot last without these
Without these bitterness and heartbreak will be the result.

However: True love will lead you to put yourself second,
True love will result in commitment, hard work, selflessness,
Compromise and sometimes surrender the result of this is True Happiness


(ii) The Look

I used to look
At the world through
Rose coloured spectacles
Until somebody pointed out
That I looked like a rather
Unattractive drag queen
So, now I just don’t look

(iii) Hating

It's so wrong to discriminate
On the basis of skin colour
Or ethnic persuasion
Especially when there are
Usually many more
Justifiable reasons to
Really hate people

(iv) Curiosity

Curiosity did not kill the cat
Curiosity merely made the cat
More aware and less lightly
To be killed
Curiosity did however emasculate
The butcher who one day decided
That it would be interesting to see
If he could circumcise himself with
His own bacon slicer - turned out, he could,
However his skills at bacon slicing were not so good


(v) Salvation

The salvation of mankind can only come about
If we stamp out any and all man made religions
And move to a secular humanist society  
I have had enough of live and let live
Which always results in live and let die
As opposing religions kill each other
And kill those that will not bend the knee
Or convert to their ideology

(vi) Fire!

It’s always darkest,
Before they take the
Blindfold off
Then it gets even
More dark than
You thought
As you are shot
By firing squad

(vii) Talk

It never ceases
To confound me
And others how,
With a modicum
Of encouragement,
I am willing and able
To talk so much shite
