Jumbo the Elephant Went to Rehab

he was in a rage
but never hurt
the children
knocking down
the elephant house
again
Scott got him drunk again
and that is animal abuse--
his trainer was a drunk--
but he slept at Jumbo's
side for 40 years
inside the elephant house
in the hay
cold nights
sometimes in
the barn
jumbo got upset one day
and he had the shakes
he pooped and got sick
like an earthquake
he got a suitcase
packed it full
of peanuts
and he went to rehab
to cure his drinking
of strong whiskey
usually soaked in
honey buns
and an occasional beer...
now he sits in
