I have my pride
I have my pride
A feeling of never
Giving in to that tide
Washing away the fighters
“Who are evil,” They lied
Some people say
I am too proud
But I get through the day
With showing no weakness
In the constant hot month of May
I do not cry
Simple as that
I would much rather die
Than show their words
Have not, in fact, slipped by
Some say I fight
Far too much
But I have my right
To say what I think and shy
From the darkness to keep to the light
I stand tall
Saying a simple “No”
At their constant call
To drag me down with them
In a Hell they call order and all
Who ever said
Authority was the way?
I see it as unsettling as lead
In a bullet
Hurling towards your head.
A feeling of never
Giving in to that tide
Washing away the fighters
“Who are evil,” They lied
Some people say
I am too proud
But I get through the day
With showing no weakness
In the constant hot month of May
I do not cry
Simple as that
I would much rather die
Than show their words
Have not, in fact, slipped by
Some say I fight
Far too much
But I have my right
To say what I think and shy
From the darkness to keep to the light
I stand tall
Saying a simple “No”
At their constant call
To drag me down with them
In a Hell they call order and all
Who ever said
Authority was the way?
I see it as unsettling as lead
In a bullet
Hurling towards your head.
