Rocky Mountain Sweetheart

whenever I think of her and I do from time to time
I think of mountains
Rocky Mountain Sweetheart
was Dee
the cold, cold winters in Cheyenne
were no match for the heat she radiated
my Mountain Girl
my lovely girl
my girl
me stationed
at the Air Force Base
her a native
good family, met her parents
dad was an ex-sheriff
he looked the part
crotchety old man scared the hell outta me
but Dee could tame him
with a smile
ah, that quirky little smile
didn't tame me
made me wanna fight a Rocky Mountain Grizzly
for a taste of those lips
Dee didn't make me fight that grizzly
no, she tamed me in other ways
her way
I was rowdy back then
bordering on anti-social, that would come later
she used to kid me
about those girls in Ft. Collins
that was in Colorado
college town and good place for trolling
for women or a brawl
sometimes both
Clancy's was the hotspot for us in Ft. Collins
big on polka's
and girls on the half shell
Dee acted like she was put out
don't think she was
Dee was playing with me
she was, after all
older
whenever I think of her and I do from time to time
I think of mountains
Rocky Mountain Sweetheart
