TRIPTYCH I: THE UPWARDS FALL
I fall
Into diaphanous skies of sleep
Where dreams arise from endless deep
And of liquid shadow I drink
While tethered to addiction, I sink
O' Lorelei, gaunt as my memory
Embrace me
Show what sights I must see
Through filtered amber, nigh crystalline
Until I can once again breathe
Leeching emptiness, pulls me under
I watch the moon wither in dawn's arms
Turning a thousand shades of sunrise
And my wings are yet out of reach
Eternal storm, our heavens weep
My hands reach above and underneath
A porcelain shell, draped by morning
Veiled ghost of our innocence
The cracks deepen, venom seeps in
Amplified by the interstice
It is you
You bear the child of night
Falling star
Spilling over the hills
Bereaved of the constellation
His father, my son
Dead in my arms
The carrion
Festers in the light you gave
And sorrow was the impetus
And of our greed
Bred antipathy, vultures descend
Nothing of truth remains
Our ichor slow in faithless veins
I stare once again into myself
The kaleidoscopic void
No colour, no space
Reflections of the wound I leave
Within the abyss of mind, I'm freed
My carrion
In rust-laden sadness
To writhe in pain, a sanguine song
I scrawl my own soliloquy
Upon desolate walls
Bequeath that curse when life is gone
A heart is what I do seek
For it was ripped out of me
Those who remained
Lay cinders at my feet
Triptych of life, monochrome
For all the colour has bled away
As the fire sears the eye
And from ash we do not rise
Lorelei, embrace me
Cleanse these charred halls
This cage of fathomless dysphoria
Sculpt me of the finer elements
Of dark matter remnants
