That  Look

There was this look,you see
Exchanged between you and me
I was taken by surprise
When i seen your lingering eyes
A slight sly smile
With a certain "Come hither" style
I am a stranger to this
For its been such a long while
This flatters me so
But there is something you should know
That part of me is long gone
I no longer sing a lover's song
It has no appeal for me
I am a "loner" now and will always be
There was a time though
From many years ago
When love's complications
Seemed worth all the stipulations
But now I have no energy for all that aggravation
Still I do enjoy the flirtatious glance
Brings back fond memories of love and romance
