(i) The right to remain silent

Being a witness
To child abuse
Is not the same
As being a victim
A victims silence
Is understandable
A witnesses silence
Is unforgivable


(ii) Voices

When the voices in your head
Become louder than the voices
You can shout loudly, I think it’s
Safe to say that you are insane


(iii) Liberty

Liberty either applies
To everyone
Or it applies
To no one
Anything else
Is just taking
Liberties


(iv) Heaven

Heaven is only a worthwhile
Prize to us if the manner of
Your life, death and suffering
Is forgotten rather
Than just forgiven

(v) What is it good for?

The war on drugs like
The drug of war are both
Elitist addictions and profit
Motives, where poor people
Dying is at best ignored,
At worst encouraged

(vi) Victims

When you forgive those who
Do unspeakable and
Unforgivable things,
You become more likely
To remain a victim or become
The next victim creating
New horrors that could have
Been preventable

(vii)  Notice

If tomorrow never comes
You won’t even notice:
Will you?
What’s really sad is,
If tomorrow never
Comes and nobody
Else notices you’re gone

On the plus side
You still won’t notice
Because you’ll be
Dead
