when the vultures buried their dead
vultures
only see food
dead-meat?
no
that is the imperfect
definition by humans
so
when it's time
to eat
vultures
only see
meat
their own
or not
let rot
they not
fear
the times
when flood
famines
or earthquakes
are not scary anymore
the time
when vultures
buried their dead
Author's note:- scenario, metaphorical- vultures burying their dead, for the entire food chain will become too toxic even for the nature's hardiest of cleansers- the vultures.

Very nice environmental observation, a stark warning indeed, wonderful use of “nature’s hardiest of cleansers” to cement the impact such a world would be like.

Great piece, the keen observation is quite astounding. Another thought provoker.

"fear the times when floods, famines or earthquakes are not scary anymore" I see these times in our near future and birds of prey and vultures alike resting in the trees. It is best we heed the signs and begin kicking our minds into gear.
The words here, both figurative and literally well written and are a forewarning to us all.

Friend
with depth
of insight
wisdom
is but a joy to behold.
Floods
famines
earthquakes
when they'll become the norm
life still won't be 'that' scary
for these
with bit of human ingenuity and wisdom
are manageable/planned for
what is truly
scary
is the inability
of the human
to "manage"
the food chain
in its entirety.
too late
for the fool
sitting on the other end of the branch
with a chainsaw in his hand
Appreciation
beyond words.

Often I ponder "Is man at the top of the food chain?" and I think only man would feel so, with his "Me first" narcissistic thinking. Since man must depend on all else, in order to continue. Perhaps he has turned the food chain on it's head. Just me?

it's a very interesting observation dear Friend. And yep, me-first narcissist thinking. The food chain sometimes also referred as 'the balance of nature' of course is something beyond human control. But hey, 'i got this- i got this' attitude fool normally realises he ain't got this till it is too late. Till then..drill baby drill..fracking, belching- no they're tree huggers' conspiracy theories.
