Ok, he contacted.  Whew! This is a good sign.  Will this continue? Or is this a one-time thing.
Idle chatter.  "How's the weather? What do you do for fun?  What line of work are you in?"

"I had fun. I like spending time with you and would like to see you soon.  I'll message you. Hopefully we can get together on the weekend."  Slowly I get reeled in. I really like this person a lot.

"That new restaurant was awesome.  I really enjoyed that movie the other day too."
I'm thinking I could sure get used to those walks on the beach.
"Are you free for lunch Friday? Wow. Hope is soaring. What am I gonna wear!

Waiting patiently. Umm.  Must be so busy at work and forgot today was the day we're meeting for lunch. A family emergency possibly. Huh, no answer.  Maybe his phone was stolen.
The silence has begun.

I look at my phone every 2 minutes.   Hope he meant everything he said.  The anticipation builds.  My anxiety is going through the ceiling.  Reciting every word he said in my head. Reviewing all the messages over and over. Did I say or do something wrong?
24 hours pass.  3 days pass. What is this game human's play! Let me check, maybe my phone is not working properly? The entire week has passed. Well, he could have been hit by a car. What if he's dead?!

I have come to a conclusion, and It's painfully obvious. I'm a victim. I've been ghosted.  The disappearing act has been performed and executed perfectly.  Houdini-like, you know?  LOL !
