Across The Miles

I reach out my hands across the miles to wrap my arms around you
To comfort your crumpled heart, unfolding like a blooming flower

To be your sunshine and lift you from depths I too have been down to
On a cloudy spring day I'll be a refreshing April shower

If memories mist your path let me be your eyes and guide you through
The strength resides within, you need no potions of magic power

You don't need me, your heart is strong enough, though I'm still here for you
Because I too have bitten a ripened pear when sweetness turned sour

Yet new fruit springs forth and nothing shines as bright on the morning dew
As the rising Sun spreading warmth and light upon your darkest hour
