“Cris from round da’ way”
Sit tight right there, got a lil’ story I want to share…
about a certain young man who used to live around here-
his young life was jail after jail…
He used to run these streets thuggin’… yeah, of course he used to sell…
he went to prison a few years ago… Got out and started that same ole flow…
didn’t learn a damn thing… never really cared to know... When he was 23, he met this woman named Nikki… a beautiful girl, very intelligent who had just moved to our city… he bought her DESIGNER this and that… Plenty of low-cut shit to admire her big titties…
they lived together for about 2 1/2 years… soon after she had the baby, she got hooked on his supply… then, started to frequently disappear..
Cris, then began to slowly change… FINALLY, reality set in to his brain… realized he couldn’t do things quite the same…Nikki's doped out, later found dead, in the "click house" where he used to hang
Now left alone to raise his child… no more slangin’ dope… no more actin’ wild…
He made hard choices to give his daughter everything she'd need... he took his black ass back to school and got his degree…
got hired last just week by a big ass company…
and Cristine, his little girl, happy and healthy as could be…
I stopped him one day…
because I had to say… how I had watched him grow in a major way…
he smiled with intensity…then he said… one night, right before he went to bed… Something touched his life and the thoughts changed in his head…
my daughter is my life now…and that is fine with me… she's beautiful, playful… and so very sweet…
my world was changed when she looked in my eyes… and clearly said the word "daddy", yep, that's me.
he said no matter what you’ve done in your life… and no matter where you’ve been… you take on a new perspective…
when parenthood finds the pathway in…
God blessed me with an eyes open-2nd chance… one I chose to embrace… not rich and famous like "I" thought I would be… but extremely rich in a different place…
I said, damn, this is a new day-he IS a different man with a much better plan
