Departing or Staying
If I would have died today would you have paid attention?
When death opens the door and asks you if you are ready
What would you say? I really just want all of the tension
To leave my body as I depart this world. If I clasp my steady
Hand in yours would you hold on for dear life? When I take
My last breath, will you be right there? It is like falling into
A dream state of mind, but the lights flicker as I awake
From this deep slumber. My mind is playing tricks as you
And everybody else are still here. I was ready to fly solo
And spread my wings in a new afterlife. I have packed
All of my bags and standing by the front door although
I am terrified. Where would I go? Either under cracked
Ice as hell or heaven. I just hope to leave an impact.
