Oh my word, I love this poem.

I think because as I was reading it (and I've read it several times over the last few hours since seeing it on Facebook) my brain was consciously going "a cabinet on the lawn of a psychiatric hospital... what could that actually mean..." BECAUSE that's what my poetic brain has always been kinda trained to do.

That sucker-punch of a last stanza is so rare. It just so seldom happens when I stop and go "...fuck, he's right" and I am the WORST writer for metaphors. Full of 'em. Everything means something else. Guess I've never really thought of it like that.

Thank you for sharing, and y'know, fucking me up on a Tuesday morning. It's all good.

The funny thing is, I had a similar experience writing this poem as you had to reading it. The first line came to me seemingly out of nowhere and I kept wondering what it meant, before deciding that it could just as well mean nothing, and a poem could be written about how it means nothing.

Jack this really is one of the best poems
i've read it's so utterly original that
it leaves one reeling trying to take in the full impact..
