DON’T FORGET
Please don’t give me credit for what any man would do
Please refrain from sending thank you letters to me from you
A pat upon my back is just not needed every time
I do things out of goodness from within this heart of mine
A helping hand when lifting bags or help to cross the road
There’s nothing too much trouble just to lighten someone’s load
I don’t do things for favour I just do things that bring joy
Fixing broken household stuff and that little kiddies toy
Some people give me kisses and a few they give me hugs
For getting rid of vermin and some horrid little bugs
People buy me presents as their way of saying thanks
While others give me money to put in the different banks
Just helping make life easier when things are getting tough
Is how you can remember me and that will be enough
