The Light Has Gone Out
Where once was light
It lives there no more
The darkness crept in
Through a half-open door
A door left open
I just didn't know
Foolishly thinking
It would never close
The creaking sound
Echoes in my mind
While breaking my heart
And slowing down time
Nothing left to see
Not one touch to feel
Silence is deafening
As fate places its seal
Not enough light left
For even a shadow
Scatter bits of broken heart
If there is a tomorrow
Smoke always lingers
When a fire's been doused
The darkness has settled
My light has gone out
It lives there no more
The darkness crept in
Through a half-open door
A door left open
I just didn't know
Foolishly thinking
It would never close
The creaking sound
Echoes in my mind
While breaking my heart
And slowing down time
Nothing left to see
Not one touch to feel
Silence is deafening
As fate places its seal
Not enough light left
For even a shadow
Scatter bits of broken heart
If there is a tomorrow
Smoke always lingers
When a fire's been doused
The darkness has settled
My light has gone out
