Sacrilegious Adoration
You were my savior
When I didn't know I needed saving
Or maybe I didn't
I just found a new way to be lost
Wandering down little trails on your body
Swallowing every fiber of who you are
And what made you this way
I still crave the wildness from time to time
Fading into the night
Floating from the pills and the lean
But your kisses are better than any stranger's
And your love is better than any vagrant lover
Gleaned from the crowds
Of faceless, meaningless escapades
Waiting to happen
You taught me to love again
What my parents and grandparents ruined
You mended without so much as a word
What began as just another boy toy
I meant to throw away when I was done
Turned into the man with whom
I want to meet every rising sun
When I didn't know I needed saving
Or maybe I didn't
I just found a new way to be lost
Wandering down little trails on your body
Swallowing every fiber of who you are
And what made you this way
I still crave the wildness from time to time
Fading into the night
Floating from the pills and the lean
But your kisses are better than any stranger's
And your love is better than any vagrant lover
Gleaned from the crowds
Of faceless, meaningless escapades
Waiting to happen
You taught me to love again
What my parents and grandparents ruined
You mended without so much as a word
What began as just another boy toy
I meant to throw away when I was done
Turned into the man with whom
I want to meet every rising sun
