My new Beginning

I never thought this would happen.
I never thought I would be free.
But God I am so happy,
that I can finally be me.
You'll always be in my heart.
Just not always on my mind.
Now that im not clinging to you,
happiness I will find.
The last time I was this happy
was when we were good friends and going strong.
But I realize now I've been overboard for too long.
I cant believe Im saying this
but Im actually happy to lose you.
Now I can forget all of this,
start over new.
We all make mistakes in life.
We all have regrets.
Sad to say, I think one of my worst  
ones was becoming,
what I thought was,  
insperable from you.
