Our Innocent Promises

We used to dance in the sprinklers
Call ourselves fairies
Lull our pretend babies to sleep
Dream that perfect life
But now you're a woman
You're rebellious and free
Am I growing prematurely?
Because in the blink of an eye
You're under another guy
And she's smoking everything
Fantasizing sinful things
Where did the innocence go?
And those promises we made?
Look, you've become who we once hated
We're becoming those things
Things we swore we'd never be...
