You were pushing the imagined mend
Forcing frayed ends to kiss again
Sowing gardens we cannot tend
Planting non-existent plans
Rockinghorses roar within
But it rains each time I pretend
Delusions of dew dawn dominion upon us
Oh, that we'd don lips to drink...
My attic stays crammed with antique anxieties
Airless
I'm an impaired heiress
(At least one of us owns a looking glass)
These eggshells never bear my weight
You laid them to impede my gait
My soul will never stand to wait
All dreams diverted
Sore eyes swoon
Captured rafters string the moon
Seized like secrets in this room
Forcing frayed ends to kiss again
Sowing gardens we cannot tend
Planting non-existent plans
Rockinghorses roar within
But it rains each time I pretend
Delusions of dew dawn dominion upon us
Oh, that we'd don lips to drink...
My attic stays crammed with antique anxieties
Airless
I'm an impaired heiress
(At least one of us owns a looking glass)
These eggshells never bear my weight
You laid them to impede my gait
My soul will never stand to wait
All dreams diverted
Sore eyes swoon
Captured rafters string the moon
Seized like secrets in this room
