Flash of Light

 A flash of light

in the darkness

casts scenes upon

a world of natural wonder,

A bit of color shines

through the night

and a world of shadows

springs up behind objects

just beyond the light;

yet, are the shadows

from the light cast,

or from the preceding darkness?

Questions are moot at this point

the light is gone, &

the scene is darkness once more.

Life moves about

in the darkness of night,

Seeing with different senses,

but not forgetting

that which they saw,

in an instant,

illuminated

in a  flash of light
