Say Love

You say love
as if
it should mean something
beyond and between
these hungry moments
we steal from Death's mouth
every last morsel
rolled 'round tongues
sucked
savored
consumed
piping hot
searing taste buds
leaving us numb
to everything but
the heat
which invariably
dissipates
